We cannot form a conception of Eternal Life. What we imagine is ever simply of the earth, temporal, worldly. Nor could we know anything about our eternal life if it had not appeared in Jesus Christ. In him we realize that we were created for the eternal life. If we ask, what is this eternal life? what sense is there in thinking about it if we can have no conception of it?, the answer is, "It is life with God, in God, from God; life in perfect fellowship." Therefore it is a life in love, it is love itself. It is a life without the nature of death and sin, hence without sorrow, pain, anxiety, care, misery. To know this suffices to make one rejoice in eternal life. If there were no eternal life, this life of time would be without meaning, goal, or purpose, without significance, without seriousness and without joy. It would be nothing. That our life does not end in nothing, but that eternal life awaits us, is the glad message of Jesus Christ. He came to give us this promise as a light in this dark world. A Christian is a man who has become certain of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Birdes of a feather will flocke togither.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/4241

Birdes of a feather will flocke togither.

It is easier to do many things than to do one thing continuously for a long time.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/60437

It is easier to do many things than to do one thing continuously for a long time.

Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/21314

Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life.

It's not going to be above normal for much of the next week, and it's going to remain wet most ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/30156

It's not going to be above normal for much of the next week, and it's going to remain wet most of the time.

But the fawn just died.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/41802

But the fawn just died.

We had to either prevent or slow down their counters by keeping our front court active and making them play ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/30492

We had to either prevent or slow down their counters by keeping our front court active and making them play defense. First, that He was a Sabbath-breaker. Secondly, that He was "a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners" -- or (to draw aside the veil of Elizabethan English that makes it sound so much more respectable) that He ate too heartily, drank too freely, and kept very disreputable company, including grafters of the lowest type and ladies who were no better than they should be. For nineteen and a half centuries, the Christian Churches have laboured, not without success, to remove this unfortunate impression made by their Lord and Master. They have hustled the Magdalens from the Communion-table, founded Total Abstinence Societies in the name of Him who made the water wine, and added improvements of their own, such as various bans and anathemas upon dancing and theatre-going. They have transferred the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, and, feeling that the original commandment "Thou shalt not work" was rather half-hearted, have added to it the new commandment, "Thou shalt not play.".

While I plan, and plan, my hair Is gray before I know it.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/51725

While I plan, and plan, my hair Is gray before I know it.

If only God would give me some clear sign!
