And when thus I look at Him, what do I learn? First of all, the true divinity of Christ Himself. I cannot doubt what is His own conception of His own personality. Through everything He does, through everything He says, there shines the quiet, intense radiance of conscious Godhead. Again, I say, it is not a word or two which He utters, though He does say things which make known His self-consciousness, but it is a certain sense of originalness, of being, as it were, behind the processes of things -- this is what has impressed mankind in Jesus, and been the real power of their often puzzled but never abandoned faith in His Divinity. He has appeared to men, in some way, as He appears to us today, to be not merely the channel but the fountain of Love and Wisdom and Power, of Pity and Inspiration and Hope: The wonderful thing about this sense of Divinity as it appears in Jesus is its naturalness, the absence of surprise or of any feeling of violence. (Continued tomorrow).

If you command wisely, you\'ll be obeyed cheerfully.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/66737

If you command wisely, you\'ll be obeyed cheerfully.

Illegitimis non carborundum."Lat., "Don't let the bastards grind you down.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/22130

Illegitimis non carborundum."Lat., "Don't let the bastards grind you down.

And yet he hadde "a thombe of gold" pardee.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/17771

And yet he hadde "a thombe of gold" pardee.

A human being is part of a whole, called by us the "Universe," a part limited in time and space. ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/60197

A human being is part of a whole, called by us the "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. If I were to preach upon this text ("For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matt. 6:21), to such a glass, it would be enough for half the sermon, enough to show the worldly man his treasure, and the object of his Heart, to call his eye to that minute-glass, and to tell him, "There flows, there flies, your treasure, and your heart with it." But if I had a secular glass, a glass that would run an age; if the two hemispheres of the world were composed in the form of such a glass, and all the world burnt to ashes, and all the ashes, and the sands, and atoms of the world put into that glass, it would not be enough to tell the godly man what his treasure, and the object of his heart is. A parrot will sooner be brought to relate to us the wisdom of a council table, than any Ambrose, or any Chrysostom, men that have gold and honey in their names, shall tell us what the treasure of heaven is, and that man's peace, that hath set his Heart upon that treasure.

Tolerance is another word for indifference.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/59433

Tolerance is another word for indifference.

I was a pilot flying an airplane and it just so happened that where I was flying made what I ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/1977

I was a pilot flying an airplane and it just so happened that where I was flying made what I was doing spying.

With all thy sober charms possest, Whose wishes never learnt to stray.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/61783

With all thy sober charms possest, Whose wishes never learnt to stray.

Caroline and Jayme led the team today with their energy.
