Hundreds of people could not have been so mistaken, especially when Jesus offered clear evidence of it. But it was not an earthbound body. It was something that bore a developmental relationship to an earthly human body, but it was not identical with it. There was clearly a continuity of life between the body of Jesus and the body of the resurrected Jesus, but in the process of resurrection it had undergone a very fundamental change. That, at least, seems obvious. So much for the list of dissimilarities; the body of Jesus after the resurrection had a different appearance and also a different "form". It was "like" the previous body, it had some sort of developmental relationship to it, but it was obviously not "identical" with it. Now we must consider the similarities. Strangely, they all came down to one factor, but that factor is so important that it outweighs all the dissimilarities. It is simply this: Jesus before and after the resurrection was undeniably the same person. No matter what extraordinary changes had taken place in his bodily form, all who knew him well had no doubt at all who he was. They "knew" it was the Lord.

Anyone who considers arithmetical methods of producing random digits is, of course, in a state of sin.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/26541

Anyone who considers arithmetical methods of producing random digits is, of course, in a state of sin.

When we have what we like 'tis hard to miss it.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/48783

When we have what we like 'tis hard to miss it.

Should I worship Him from fear of hell, may I be cast into it. If I do not love a person I am not moved to help him by proofs that he is in need; if I do love him, I wait for no proof of a special need to urge me to help him. Knowledge of Christ is so rich a treasure that the spirit of love must necessarily desire to impart it. The mere assurance that others have it not is sufficient proof of their need. This spirit of love throws aside intellectual arguments that they can do very well without it. But if this spirit is not present, a man is easily persuaded that to impart a knowledge of Christianity (for it is noteworthy that such men always speak of Christianity rather than of Christ) is not necessary -- nay, is superfluous expense of energy which might be better used in other ways.

Take heed of a young wench, a prophetesse, and a Lattin bred woman.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/49776

Take heed of a young wench, a prophetesse, and a Lattin bred woman.

Force is all-conquering, but its victories are short-lived.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/16435

Force is all-conquering, but its victories are short-lived.

Too much work and too much energy kill a man just as effectively as too much assorted vice or too ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/13009

Too much work and too much energy kill a man just as effectively as too much assorted vice or too much drink

I suppose, to use our national motto, something will turn up. [Motto of Vraibleusia.]

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/14624

I suppose, to use our national motto, something will turn up. [Motto of Vraibleusia.]

The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/66025

The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.

When I began to use my cricket, the first man I met in the darkness I thought was a German ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/10638

When I began to use my cricket, the first man I met in the darkness I thought was a German until he cricketed.
