The New Testament [again, and notoriously, in the person of St Paul] assumes that there will be places other than the bedroom in which men and women assume consciously differentiated roles. They will do so in the affairs of the home, in which the wife is to "submit" to her husband (Eph. 5:22ff) as head. They will do so even outside the context of family life, since man is "head" of woman in some sense; in quite another context, when the Church is at worship (I Cor. 11:2ff). In order that St Paul should not be misjudged, we must note--(a) that this relational ordering of male and female presupposes a fundamental generic equality (I Cor. 11:1 ff); and (b) that the "submission" of the wife is a special case of a "submission" of all Christians to one another, and complements a husband's love that is to be expressed in self-sacrifice (Eph. 5:2lff, 25ff). The apostle is not an apologist for male tyranny.

Intel engineering seem to have misheard Intel marketing strategy. This fact ought not to be taken to imply, however, that such an effort is unjustifiable and necessarily useless. The distinctiveness of the Biblical approach is its immediacy. The theistic proofs for God's existence constitute a laborious, painstaking, and patient justification of theism. They attempt to set forth in rational argument what the soul grasps intuitively. But for the Bible, the deepest proof of God's existence is just life itself. The knowledge of God and man's knowledge of himself are closely intertwined. If only God could be written off neatly and cleanly, how simple things would be! But the hound of heaven pads after us all. He does not let us go. There is no escaping him...; when least expected, he closes in. The explanation for this is man's creation in the image of God. His identity is known theologically, in relation to the God who as a man in his true significance cannot survive permanently in isolation from his Maker. Without God, man is the chance product of unthinking fate, and so of little worth. The current loss of identity and the emergence of the faceless man in today's culture are testimony to the effects of losing our God. The knowledge of God is given in the same movement in which we know ourselves.

A tree not taller than an ant cannot shade you. - Kanuri proverb, Nigeria

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/28502

A tree not taller than an ant cannot shade you. - Kanuri proverb, Nigeria

Four basic premises of writing: clarity, brevity, simplicity, andhumanity.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/21864

Four basic premises of writing: clarity, brevity, simplicity, andhumanity.

I am a zizzer zazzer zuzz as you can plainly see.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/56325

I am a zizzer zazzer zuzz as you can plainly see.

Being English, I always laugh at anything to do with the lavatory or bottoms.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/43705

Being English, I always laugh at anything to do with the lavatory or bottoms.

The shortest way to do many things is to do only one thing at a time.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/16310

The shortest way to do many things is to do only one thing at a time.

What we become depends on what we read after all of the professors have finished with us.
