When we thus live wholly unto God, God is wholly ours and we are then happy in all the happiness of God; for by uniting with Him in heart, and will, and spirit, we are united to all that He is and has in Himself. This is the purity and perfection of life that we pray for in the Lord's Prayer, that God's kingdom may come and His will be done in us, as it is in Heaven. And this we may be sure is not only necessary, but attainable by us, or our Saviour would not have made it a part of our daily prayer.

Given the challenging acquisition market we are pleased to have acquired these outstanding properties. The prophets were men called by God to serve as His messengers to a stubborn and unheeding people. They were always careful to point out that they were not voicing their own wisdom. Their warnings, entreaties, and promises were always prefaced by the awesome proclamation: "Thus says the Lord..." When the prophets did engage in prognostication, they usually were concerned with events which were fairly close at hand, such as the Assyrian conquest of Israel and the Babylonian conquest of Judah (both of which they foretold with deadly accuracy). But occasionally a prophet's vision ranged farther into the future, to the day when God would enter into a new covenant with his rebellious children. The hope of reconciliation was often linked with the coming of a very particular person, a Messiah or Savior. What made the prophets so sure that they had a right--nay, a duty, to speak in the name of God? It is clear from their writings that they were not megalomaniacs who confused their own thoughts with the voice of God. On the contrary, they were humble men, awe-stricken by the responsibilities thrust upon them... The prophets minced no words in their indictments of the sins of Israel and Judah, and they trod especially hard on the toes of the rich, the powerful, and the pious. The Establishment responded then as some church members are wont to respond now when a preacher speaks out on controversial public issues: "One should not preach of such things!" (Micah 2:6).

Every time I paint a portrait I lose a friend.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/45433

Every time I paint a portrait I lose a friend.

Better to be without logic than without feeling.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/25434

Better to be without logic than without feeling.

As to pay, Sir, I beg leave to assure the Congress that as no pecuniary consideration could have tempted me ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/17145

As to pay, Sir, I beg leave to assure the Congress that as no pecuniary consideration could have tempted me to accept this arduous employment at the expense of my domestic ease and happiness, I do not wish to make any profit from it. - George Washington,

Liberty:one of imaginations most precious possessions.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/24724

Liberty:one of imaginations most precious possessions.

As different streams having different sources all mingle their waters in the sea, so different tendencies, various though they appear, ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/66642

As different streams having different sources all mingle their waters in the sea, so different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to God.

There is no whaler and no whale biologist, no matter how experienced, who is so jaded that his heart does ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/23117

There is no whaler and no whale biologist, no matter how experienced, who is so jaded that his heart does not race at the sight of a blue whale. •Dale Rice Nothing excites jaded grandmasters more than a theoretical novelty •Dominic Lawson I used to be a hopeless romantic -- I fell in love with everyone I went out with. Now I'm a little more . . . jaded •Source Unknown People say the word 'naive' as if it were a bad thing. Frankly, I believe that being naive, like a child, is being innocent. Being innocent is happiness. Once innocence is lost there is no turning back, we have now become cynical and jaded adults •Source Unknown We'll have to change our jaded ways, but I've loved these days. •Billy Joel ...time misspent and faculties mis-employed, and senses jaded by labor, or impaired by excess, cannot be recalled any more than that freshness of the heart, before it has become aware of the deceits of others, and of its own. •John Randolph I'm not jaded but I'm not controlled by my emotions. It's not that I'm emotionless, I just have the ability not to be controlled by things like love and hate. •Marilyn Manson If I don't make it know that, I've loved you all along. He will only do harm to himself and to the community. Alone you stood before God when He called you; alone you had to answer that call; alone you had to struggle and pray; and alone you will die and give an account to God. You cannot escape yourself; for God has singled you out. If you refuse to be alone, you are rejecting Christ's call to you, and you can have no part in the community of those who are called.... Let him who is not in community beware of being alone. Into the community you were called -- the call was not meant for you alone; in the community of the called you bear your cross, you struggle, you pray. You are not alone even in death, and on the Last Day you will be only one of the great congregation of Jesus Christ. If you scorn the fellowship of the brethren, you reject the call of Jesus Christ.

The hatred and cruelty which have their source in selfishness are ineffectual things compared with the venom and ruthlessness born ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/52287

The hatred and cruelty which have their source in selfishness are ineffectual things compared with the venom and ruthlessness born of selflessness.

Her physical-education teacher in junior high was always impressed with her running talent.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/39480

Her physical-education teacher in junior high was always impressed with her running talent.

There are no more seditious rallies going on now, and many of the coup plotters have been arrested,

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/35871

There are no more seditious rallies going on now, and many of the coup plotters have been arrested,

The glory that goes with wealth is fleeting and fragile; virtue is a possession glorious and eternal.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/46357

The glory that goes with wealth is fleeting and fragile; virtue is a possession glorious and eternal.

The hearing ear is always found close to the speaking tongue; and no genius can long or often utter anything ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/17314

The hearing ear is always found close to the speaking tongue; and no genius can long or often utter anything which is not invited and gladly entertained by men around him.

Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment.

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/61736

Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment.

Well, we knocked the bastard off!

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/43304

Well, we knocked the bastard off!

It's tough to get a feeling for a team this early in the year but I'm not going to complain ...

http://www.maxioms.com/maxiom/37359

It's tough to get a feeling for a team this early in the year but I'm not going to complain about being 2-0.
