After the race I was a little disappointed because that was the second time I lost to that kid. I thought maybe if it was on a different track I could have beaten that kid, but that's part of racing, the type of track you're on and stuff like that. I always want to win, but that's kind of a reality. It was a good showing to be there and finish second.

Melissa is a very versatile player. She has a great game sense and a great defensive presence on the field. She has proven she can play back and midfield and is ready for this level. One of the best things about Melissa is that she really enjoys to compete. She has a tremendous amount of passion for the game and I believe she will make a significant contribution as a freshman.

[Donald Abrams, MD, also commented on the biased federal approach to research. In the late '90s Abrams conducted a federally funded study to determine the safety of smoked marijuana in AIDS patients taking protease inhibitors.] At that time we could not use the federal government's marijuana to show that it might be beneficial because NIDA has a mandate from Congress that they could only supply marijuana for research to show that it might be dangerous, ... Subsequently NIDA has changed their mechanism so we can look for benefit.
